Your Questions, Answered

  • Sing Play Say is led by speech-language professionals and designed to support your baby’s communication development through play, music, and everyday routines. Each session gives you simple, evidence-based strategies you can use right away, so you leave feeling confident, supported, and connected to your child.

  • A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is a regulated healthcare professional who assesses and treats communication, speech, language, and feeding development. A Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) works under the supervision of an SLP to support therapy and parent education. At Sing Play Say, sessions are designed and led by these trained professionals using evidence-based strategies.

  • Sing Play Say currently offers 7-week programs for babies ages 5 to12 months. We also host pop-up workshops and collaborate with other professionals. Groups and workshops for toddlers are in the works, so stay tuned!

  • Currently, we offer sessions in Etobicoke at Roncesvalle United Church and in Mississauga at Erindale Presbyterian Church. You can also follow us on Instagram to see where our next pop up workshop will be hosted!

  • You can register here and choose the option that works best for you. Spots are limited to keep groups small and interactive.

  • Please bring something comfortable to sit on, such as a blanket or yoga mat. We’ll let you know ahead of time if anything extra is needed and will send reminders in the WhatsApp group (for example, a favorite book, a shaker, or a preferred toy).

  • Sing Play Say is a parent education and group program rather than one-on-one therapy. Some insurance companies may reimburse sessions under “parent training.” We recommend reaching out to your insurance provider directly to ask whether this service may be covered under your plan.

  • Sing Play Say is designed specifically for babies within the listed age range to keep the environment calm and developmentally appropriate. For this reason, siblings are not able to attend regular sessions unless otherwise stated. We appreciate your understanding and will always communicate when family-friendly or sibling-inclusive events are offered.

  • No. Sing Play Say is a parent education and early communication group, not speech therapy. While sessions are designed by speech-language professionals and grounded in evidence-based practices, the focus is on teaching you simple strategies to support your baby’s communication during everyday routines and play.

  • That is expected! Sing Play Say is designed for babies at all stages of communication, including those who are not yet using words. We focus on early skills like eye contact, gestures, sounds, imitation, and interaction, which are the building blocks for speech.

  • Babies are babies! This is totally normal. You’re welcome to feed, comfort, or step out at any time. Some venues also have nursery rooms you can use if needed. We keep sessions flexible, supportive, and judgment-free.

  • That’s completely okay. Babies learn by watching, listening, moving, resting, or joining in when they’re ready. There’s no expectation for your baby to perform or participate in a certain way. Simply being there and sharing the experience together is enough.
